Cocker Spaniels/cocker spaniel diet

QuestionHello again, I'm definately going to try your suggestions w/ diet. Heres the follow up questions you had about pancreatitus. There was no "raiding of the trash" or large dose of people food. It was an isolated event, where he would barely lift his head, we took him in. High fever, kept him over night on IV, reintroduced food the next day. They sent us home w/ Eukanuba low residue canine, but told us to avoid protein- thus buy any low fat food.
Unfortunately, I can't pinpoint when the" mysterious behavior, episodes" began. It was right @ the same time. Maybe 6 months before, or after. As for his weight, its good. Exercise, hes walked twice daily & dog park @3 times a week. Once agin, thanks for your time & expertise. We'll definately be trying a diet change. best regards, Charlie
AnswerIf they didn't do the definitive test for pancreatitis plus bloodwork, then they were guessing. Quite honestly, he wouldn't have been eating the next day and the "low residue" food has nothing at ALL to do with anything.
Charlie, I'd like you to write me directly at DeeBeck7765@aol.com.
I have some ideas for his diet and going direct is just faster and easier.
And do get him onto a better food asap. All my instincts are telling me this is connected to his diet.
Is this what you've been feeding - the Euk. low residue? I want to take a look at the analysis of the ingredients so I need to know exactly.
Delores
p.s. When you put some honey in his mouth, was it a fair amount?
Like a tsp? Or just a teeny bit?
