Cocker Spaniels/Cocker spaniel season

Question
I have a 1 year old cocker spaniel who has not had a season yet. Is this normal? I was told they have their first season at about 6/8 months. Could I have missed it?

Answer
Could be normal for her.  6 to 8 months is general..and some have been known to wait well over a year to a year and a half.

You could miss the signs since they vary in intensity from girl to girl.  With some it's unmistakable..with others the signs are slight.

Just don't let her out alone - even in a well fenced in yard.  Males will climb, dig, or do just about anything and it can happen in minutes.
