My female puppy Hollie is nearly six months old when do you suggest is the best time to get her spayed? Is it best for her to come into season once first. Also can you give me some idea on how much this would cost.

No, it's not best for her to have a heat.  I'd suggest "now" :) to get her spayed since they come into heat around 6 months.

As to cost - ask your vet.  Prices vary.

If by chance she does come into heat I can't emphasize enough to never EVER leave her outside alone for even a minute.  Male dogs from miles around will be surrounding your house.  No, I'm not kidding.
