Cocker Spaniels - hungry cocker

Expert: Delores Beck - 6/8/2009

Question
I feed my 3 year old Cocker Spaniel 3/4 cups of all natural (no wheat, corn fillers, by way products)called Diamond dog food. He acts like his is hungry all the time. Am I not giving him enough food or what should I be doing differently that would help him not be so hungry all the time.

Thank you so much,
Tammy

Answer
Diamond isn't a good food.  I know it says "natural" but that means absolutely nothing.  He's acting like he's hungry because he is. And one 3/4 cup of anything isn't enough food.  I can't believe that's what the feeding guide on the bag says.

I'd definitely switch him to a better food and definitely not feed him an all-kibble diet.

I think the absolute best food on the market is Innova and Innova EVO.
You can find out where to buy near you by going to Naturapet.com
and using the dealer locator.

PetSmart carries AvoDerm.  Petco carries Solid Gold, Halo, and now a new food by Cesar Millan.

Any store that carries Innova will also carry other premium brands like Wellness - Fromm - Evanger's - Orijen.

Switch him over to a new food slowly by adding a bit more to the old food every day.
