Question
I have a 5 1/2 month old cocker and he does not eat his food like he used to sence he taste the cooked food that my daughter drop,i gives him pedigree, that he only eats when really gets hungry, and thats once a day my sister has the brother which is bigger, and eats the same food, should i change his diet if so what would you recommand?

Answer
At five months he's in a massive growth spurt and really needs good nutrition and should be fed 3x daily.

Pedigree is probably the worst food on the planet.  So yes, I'd certainly advise feeding him something better.

I'll give you some suggestions.  My first choice is Innova and to find out where it's sold in your area, go to Naturapet.com and click on "Locate a Dealer".

PetSmart carries AvoDerm.

PetCo carries Spot's Stew - Halo - Cesar Milan and I think Solid Gold too.

He may not really like kibble so try some canned food.  It's higher protein, less preservatives.
And don't stick with one formula because a variety of protein is important.

Good luck, Bridgette and do write with any other questions.

Expertise

Health, nutrition, training. Please note: I used to highly recommend Innova products but, unfortunately, as with Canidae, they have sold out to Proctor & Gamble. This guarantees lower quality to a dangerous point so I will no longer be advising anyone to buy it.

20 years of owning this breed.
