Question
I have a year old cockerspaniel. She mostly eats 3 meals a day-an egg in the morning and small portions of chicken or chicken liver at noon and night, all with wheat bread and some vegetable or lentil or rice mixed in meat. want to know if feeding non-veg food daily is going to harm her. Please adv as she does not eat only veg.food or hv any milk.
Thanks

Answer
First of all, stop feeding so much liver.  3oz. per week is the limit or you can go into Vitamin A toxicity.

And unless you know how to properly balance homemade dog food and add the appropriate calcium supplements & necessary omega 3 and 6 oils you can do long term damage.

From what I can judge, you're feeding too little protein and way too many carbs.

What I'd advise is switching her to one of the new raw, dehydrated foods like Addiction - Sojo's Complete or NRG.

If you want to continue with homemade, Sojo's also has a "mix" that contains all the vitamins/minerals/calcium, etc. that she needs.
But you still need to vary proteins and know how much to give.

I'm happy to chat further if you'd like.  It isn't difficult but there are basics you need to know.
