Question
Hi Ms. Beck, I have a cocker spaniel that 15 and has a heart murmer he has a wart on his head that he breaks open alot and bleeds due to rubbing his face because of alergies.  What can I do to help the wart.  He cant have surgery due to his age and his murmer.  I just need to know how to keep it clean. Thank you for your time and help.  Mindy

Answer
What sort of allergy does he have?  Tell me about that.  I may have a solution if he's uncomfortable.

As for the wart, where exactly is it?  Can he lick it?

You can keep it clean with just using a clean cloth/tissue and a bit of peroxide or rubbing alcohol.  Just dab it on and gently wipe.  This will disinfect it.

If it's impossible for him to lick it, you can use any drugstore 1% hydrocortisone cream for a couple of days.  (Never use hydrocortisone for more than a week).
