Cocker Spaniels/ear infections

Question
Hello
My cocker spaniel is 5 years old and has had problems with infections for the last couple of years.  We have taken her to the vet and he has prescribed antibiotics but the infections come back and this time it is worse. We are giving her another antibiotic but the vet says if this doesn't work he will have to remove the ear canal and she will be deaf.

Is there anything else we can do along with the antibiotics. (diet etc)

Thanks

Answer
I'm assuming the antibiotics are ear drops?  Oral antibiotics don't work on ear infections.

And yes, I can help.  This will take a bit of chatting so it'll be easier/faster if you write me directly at DeeBeck7765@aol.com and answer the following questions:
What are you feeding her?
Does she have any skin issues?
Are the ear infections more prevalent at certain times of the year?
Where do you live? (climate)
Are the infections bacterial or yeast?
