Question
Hi,

My cocker spaniel has crusty spots on his back (near tail).  He is constantly biting his hind legs and front paws.  Are there any home remedies or something I can buy over the counter?

Thanks,
Nicole

Answer
How often do you bath him and what shampoo do you use.
And can you describe the crusty spots more specifically?

Does he bite/chew his front paws or is he licking them?  What are you feeding him?

This sounds like allergies..and dogs absorb allergens through their skin..so bathing often helps a lot.

Since you're in the South (a climate hard on cockers) I'd definitely first try an antihistimine
and I will recommend one but I'd like you to answer my questions first.
