I was also wondering the same thing. Here is some info I found about a cream based liqueur:



"An unopened bottle of Carolans will last about 2 years on average, but this can vary depending on storage conditions - exposure to excessively hot storage conditions can adversely affect the shelf life. Whilst Carolans has a technological advantage, which gives it a superior shelf life, all cream liqueurs are best drunk 'Young' and should be consumed within 6 months of opening the bottle, refrigerate after opening."

A 12 year old bottle of Irish Cream turned to cheese curd solid. Undrinkable and had to be broken up with long utensil just to get it out of the bottle.
