Cocktails/Learning bartending

Clint,  my husband is studying tourism and hospitality management and is very interested in learning to tend bar.  I would like to get him book or something else in support of that desire.  What do you recommend?  Is it worth it to get a book or should he just jump in and let the establishment train him?

I would recommend "The Everything Bartenders Book."  I started with this one, and the most recent version was edited by my friend Cheryl Charming, who is one of the best out there.

At the same time he should learn from his new job. As a former bar manager, nothing is more frustrating than someone new who will not learn because they think they already know it all.

Wish him luck for me, it is a fun job that teaches many skills besides just making drinks.
