Coffee - Single cup coffee maker

Expert: Ebenezer Heng - 8/20/2009

Question
Hi.
I love coffee.  I am looking at single cup coffee maker and is totally impressed with Keurig's machines (reasonably priced with large range of coffee available).  Since I am staying in Singapore, my concern is whether the k-cups coffee are easily available in Singapore.  Do you know if there is any distributor for K-cup coffee?

Answer
Hi Rachel,

Totally agreed with you that Keurig machines are great. Easy to use, brews quality coffee with reasonable pricing.

The bad news is you would not be able to find this coffee machine in Singapore. The rights to market this machine is owned by UCC (they were given the rights to Asia). They tried to market this machine few years back, but low acceptance forced them to abandon any forward plan.

Thus, at the moment you would not be able to buy keurig or any of its accessories. Korea is the nearest place where you can purchase keurig, however, you would need to some electrical point conversion.

I do not know if you have tried Nespresso. They are the only single serve coffee maker available in Singapore and they are very readily available.

Hope this helps

Ebenezer
