Coffee - Home espresso machines

Expert: Ebenezer Heng - 9/19/2009

Question
I would like to purchase a home espresso machine.  What do you consider the "best buy", meaning quality for the price.  What is the best brand?  My budget is under $300.00 .  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Jerry,

"Best buy" can be seen from this 4 category -price, brand power, ease of use and footprint. It is difficult to say what is the best brand. For someone that wants to learn about espresso, they might want to get a rancilio, on the other hand, someone that loves good espresso but want little hassle, then they would get a nespresso.

Personally, if you are asked me what is the best machine, I would recommend keurig a single serve machine. It has the variety of coffee and beverages for you to choose from, it is easy to use, easy to clean and the cost is not high, a b40 retails for less than $100.

Hope this helps.

Ebenezer
