Coffee - about Singapore coffee market

Question
Hello Ebenezer
I am researching on coffee market in Singapore but unable to find any statistics on consumption of different types of coffees in Singapore such as roasted, instant, ground coffee etc. Also, could you please help me with identifying major coffee brands in Singapore.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Gaurav,

There are two types of coffee consumption, home and out of home. If you are talking about home consumption, I would put the number at 90% over to be instant coffee. By instant coffee, I meant 3-in-1, 2-in-1 and freeze dried.

International brand leader would be Nescafe. Local market leader would be Super Coffee.

For out of home, the preferred type of coffee is brewed with coffee grounds using coffee socks. Starbucks espresso coffee and the like maybe have 20-30% of the market. The local coffee has numerous suppliers and it is not possible to pin point on the percentage of market share which they are enjoying.

What I am giving you is a very board perspective. Hope this helps.

Ebenezer
