Question
I have the 1916D mercury dime have seen varing price mine is in good shape but does have some green on it,as do other coins I have should I have them professioally cleaned or do it mysel with ascetone as I was told to do and would either way lessen the values of the coins thank you Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Rather than risk damaging your valuable coin, I would suggest you submit the 1916-D to NCS to be professionally conserved and encapsulated.

If you decide to clean it yourself, don't do the 1916-D first -- practice on a common date coin to see how it turns out.
