Question
I have been collecting coins for about two years now and my mom gave me an old coin that she got as a gift when she was young it is a 1924 Philadelphia mint wheat penny but it looks like steel and is magnetic I figure it is more than likely fake but she is attament it is real can you please help. thank you for your time ~ Scott

Answer
Hi Scott,
Without physically inspecting the coin, I can not tell you what you have.  It could be a penny that was struck on a foreign planchet, it could be a fake, it could possibly be a pattern coin, etc.
Get the coin authenticated by ANACS, PCGS or NGC
