do you know the value of a 1925 uncalculated gold twenty dollar coin?  It was my grandfathers and is in a square plastic holder that I do not believe was ever opened.  How do you rate coins to determine value?? What are the qualities they must have??  Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks

If uncirculated, at least $700. The plastic holder is not very helful information. What kind, who put the coin inside, etc. As to rating coins for value, we call it grading, and it is a complex subject I can't teach you in two minutes. It took me years to learn and I make a living doing it. Please send me a photo if you want more exact information about your coin. nsberman@msn.com
