We have looked at it with a magnifying glass and it looks
very a authenic.

Answer
Hello,

You probably do have a real wheat cent. These are always exciting to find. They were made from 1909 to 1958 when the Lincoln Memorial reverse was started.
There were more than 245 million made at the Philadelphia mint alone and about 85 million at the other 2 mints combined.
This makes them easier to find than smaller issues. They sell from a dime to fifty cents in circulated grades.
