Question
I found in my coin collection from about 35 years ago a 1940 Australia Penny. How do i know what it is worth? Everything is clear on the coin.

Answer
Hello Michelle,

I am not an expert on foreign coins and do not catalog much information on them.

Most of them are common and contain no precious metal. Your library will definitely have them listed in "The Standard Catalog of World Coins" in the reference section.

I do regularly see this as a type coin at shows and know most of them sell from one to five dollars. The country made so many millions of the same coin each year it keeps the price down.

Sorry I could not be more help but I know another expert in this category at this site who can answer you. Ask at this site
