Question
Is the 1943 copper penny worth alot, something about it being made right after the silver penny during the war? Thanks~Deb

Answer
Hi Deb,
The bulk of the production of 1943 pennies were made of zinc coated steel.  Only about 50 coins are known, or believed, to exist.

These were the result of the copper blanks from 1942 being left in the machine by a mint employee when the 1943 coins were to be struck.

1943 copper pennies are worth anywhere from $15,000 and up depending upon the condition..
