Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1946 wheat back penny

Question
Is a 1946 wheat back penny  worth anything????

Answer
George, just under a billion cents were made by the U.S. mint at Philadephia (no mint mark under the date on the coin) in 1946.  Therefore, the supply is quite large.  Unless the cent is in excellent uncirculated condition, it really has no numismatic value (and thus is worth the cent it is).  If it is in very good uncirculated condition, it can be worth around a dollar.  Go to www.ebay.com and do a search for 1946 cent, then 1946 penny, and you'll probably see several for sale.  Jim Lawniczak
