Question
thank you for taking the time to read this.
its 1955 and looks as if the copper banding is not on straight. i don't belive the its all silver but a silver and copper mix. you can tell that the banding itself was not applied properly to the coin off center so to speak.

Answer
Hello Estellita,

Sounds strange from the description you have given.  U.S.A. one cent coins were solid bronze in 1955 there was no silver colored metal in them.
Yours may have been discolored over the years naturally, been plated or may even be made on a different metal.
It would have to be seen by a coin dealer to decide how it may have happened.
If you can give me the nearest large Cities, some postal zip codes and telephone area codes I will refer you to an expert in your area.
