Question
Papajack,

Question for ya. My Father recently passed and I found a miscolored 1963 one dollar bill signed by C. Douglas DIllon. The back of the bill is a really light green color - almost a lime green if you will. I don't know much about collecting - is this a misprint?? and if it is - how much would it be worth. I can't find anything like it on the web.

Thanks,
Brad

Answer
Hello Brad,

I doubt this is a misprinted note.
The control the mint uses for inks is incredible. There was no chance the wrong color ink was used.
More likely the note was exposed to some elements. I have seen notes go through the wash and not alter the color too much but if exposed to bleach or any caustic solution it can alter the color.
There is also the chance that it is a fake made by a copier.
