Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1967 quarter with a bubble in it

Question
I have a 1967 quarter that seems to have a bubble in it.  I got it at a store as change.  I have never seen anything like this and cant image how it happened.  Have you ever heard of anything like this before?

Answer
Hi Bryan,
Yes, I have seen them. The coins today are a sandwich of copper core and nickel outsides.  The parts did not anneal properly.  Depending upon how big the bubble is will determine the value.
Check eBay for similar items for a current value.
