Question
I have a 1970 two headed nickle & Im unable to find any seams looking through a loupe. Is it worth anything?
Thanks!

Answer
Daniel, until recently, no one thought a two headed coin could be produced at the mint.  However, I think in the last few years some strange combinations have appeared (probably in my view do to hanky panky in the mint).  If it is authenticated (and the buyer believes it really is a mint piece), the piece would probably sell for quite a sum.  However, it is unlikely that any piece found is really a mint piece because that is so unlikely, and there are so many magician pieces made by soldering two head sides together.  Perhaps the seam is well done and nicely smoothed over.  You would have to show the piece to an expert at a coin show or a coin shop.  Try going to www.google. com and doing a search for [your city name] and coin show; or [your city name] and coin shop or coin dealer; and you should see some information.  Jim Lawniczak
