Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1976 state pennies

Question
I have the complete set of 50 novelty state pennies.  All 1976's with penny board and letter from manufacture.  How much is it worth?

Answer
Hello Joseph,

I do come across the sets occasionally at coin shows. I know of no one currently selling or producing the state sets.

These are real cents that have been altered. I have never seen a totally complete set.

There is no added collector value to it since it was modified by a private entity after it left the mint. They were made only as a novelty

The demand by true coin collectors is non existent at this time since they are altered one cent coins. They are only collected as a novelty item. Since your set is complete it will be easier to sell but I have not seen them sell for more than ten dollars.
