Question
Hello I have a 1978 d quarter that came from a  mint set I bought, The mint mark is total filled,is this normal for that year of coin or could it be a error coin?
Thank you very much

Jerry

Answer
Hi Jerry,
Mint state coins, as opposed to proof coins, tend to have more errors.  Although you have a filled mintmark, similar to the 1979 and 1981 proof coins, as of now I am not aware of there being a big market for your coin.  However that does not mean that you shouldn't hold onto it and check again in the future.
