Question
i have two identcal pennies that appear to be both silver. 1980 with no mint, and a 1989 with a D mint. next to lincolns head it apperas to have a v shaped protractor pointing down and a v shaped ruler pointing up. there is also a G in the middle of these two "v's" am wondering what i came across and if its worht anythign special

Answer
HI Carl,
these coins are not mint issues as such.  The pennies are genuine but the counterstamp was placed on the coin after it left the mint.  It was probably done by a school or organization as a promotional item.
I guess it is worth whatever someone else will pay for it, however from my experience, there really is no additional value added.
