Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1999 quarters

Question
Hello,

I have recently been told that 1999 quarters, specifically Connecticut and Delaware are quite valuable. Is this true and why?

Thanks!

John Butler

Answer
Hello, John, many millions of the Connecticut and Delaware quarters were made, so the term "quite valuable" would not apply.  Unciruclated examples might well sell in the $2 range, but I don't think any dealer would buy one from someone for that.  Try going to www.ebay.com and doing searches for Connecticut quarter and then Delaware quarter and I'm sure you'll see lots for sale and can check out the prices.  It is possible that condition rarities like MS69s or so could sell for some large sums, but you would have to have them certified.  Jim Lawniczak
