Coin and Paper Money Collecting/2002 Indiana State Quarter

Question
hello Again Papa Jack,

My question is about a 2002-D Indiana State Quarter. It is one of the defect quarters I've seen on the coin shows I've watched in the past. The quarter is a normal quarter besides the fact that the outer coating, I guess you would call it, has come off in spots but retains the stamp of the quarter. Theres more spots on the tail side of the coin, and the head side has just two areas one extending all through the UNITED and curves down through the center of the LIBERTY and a small spot at the very end of AMERICA. What can expect to get for this coin and would it make a good addition to my collection even though I have no other defect coins?

Answer
Hello David,

I am not sure of the error you may have.
If this error is the silver layer had delaminated from the coin prior to striking it can sell for about $10.
If this is one of the coins that copper has somehow stuck to it has limited value and little collector interest.
It would have to be seen by a coin dealer to decide how it may have happened.
If you can give me the nearest large Cities, some postal zip codes and telephone area codes I will refer you to an expert in your area.

Thank You and Good Luck
