Question
Hi,
I just received 50 in rolled quarters from my local bank. They are 2007 Washington State quarters. When I went to open the rolls the quarters were not silver but goldish. Are they gold? Are they worth a quarter?
Any info would be helpful.

Hi Donna,
There were none made by the mint in gold.
It's possible they were gold plated (by a private company) -- check to see if the edge is the same gold color as the rest of the coin -- these may be worth about a dollar apiece as a novelty item.
Most likely they were just exposed to some contaminant that turned them that golden color. If you still see the copper stripe on the edge, this is most likely the case -- in which case they have no added value.
