Question
i have a 1928 penny but there is nothing on the back  ,is it worth anything

Answer
Mike, I have been told that it is not possible to strike a coin with only one die.  Therefore, a piece that has no reverse showing can't have been struck that way at the mint.  It's possible that one side can be weakly struck, in which case there would be some evidence of the strike on the other side.  The most likely cause of your coin is that someone planed the reverse off after it was minted.  If that is so, your piece should be slightly thinner than a normal piece.  Check that and see.  If it is "damage" after minting, then there would be no collector value, Jim Lawniczak
