Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1944 lincoln plain cent

Question
I have a 1944 lincoln penny that has no mint marking (plain) and it is not magnetic.  Is this of significance?

Answer
Sorry, Lonnie, no, the 1944 Lincoln cent in copper was made in quantity, almost 1 1/2 billion of them.  It was made out of copper salvaged from cartridge cases.  Only the 1943 cent was made out of steel.  So your piece should not be magnetic.  Jim Lawniczak
