Question
i have a penny that looks as if a penny stamped a nickle sized blank.Thesize is about the same size as a nickle but its apenny. Is that possible?

Answer
Sorry, Steve, it can't happen at the mint.  It is possible for planchets smaller than intended to be struck and that has indeed happened; example -- cent struck on dime planchet, quarter struck on nickel planchet etc.  But the larger planchet won't be fed into the machine even if it got in the hopper by mistake.  Look carefully to see if action taken by curious boys after minting might be responsible.
