Question
Do you know the value of the above coin?

Answer
Hello Deborah,

This date was made at 2 mint facilities and has different values. One had no mint mark and the other has a C above the denomination.

Coins are valued on a scale from 1 to 70. And on how rare a coin is. With no or little experience it is sometimes easier letting another collector look at them, and even most coin shops will help for free.
Most circulated coins range from Good (grade-G4) to Almost Un-circulated (grade-AU50) on the scale.

IMPORTANT: Let me also note that you should never clean your coins. This removes the surface protection and cuts the value from 40% to 90%!

The Philadelphia made coin is valued from $150 in grade fine-12 to about $270 in grade Almost Uncirculated-50.
The Charlotte made coin is scarce and is valued from $450 in grade fine-12 to about $2000 in grade Almost Uncirculated-50.

Good Luck
