Question
I am having difficulty finding any information on a set of Large Silver proof "S" mint State quarters that I purchased. They are from a company called Limited Editions Inc. They are the 1999 state set and encapsulated, I have the Certificate of Authenticity and was wondering if you could tell me what these Large State Quarters set is worth. They are in proof condition, never open and in there original box any information you could give me would be appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
These sets were fairly common -- they are not government issued.  Generally, they don't have all that great a resale value because the market really isn't all that interested in them.  Most of them have value if they are made of precious metals -- most likely silver, which is selling now for over $10 per ounce (unless it recently went down in the current market).  The best way to check for things like this is on eBay -- go to www.ebay.com and do searches that are likely to bring up a set like yours that is being sold.  Try 1999 large Limited Editions quarters, and other similar searches.  Good luck, Jim Lawniczak
