hi,
i have a buffalo nickel with what seems like a conquistador on the front. can you tell me anything about this coin
Hello Patricia,
It sounds like you have what is known as a "Hobo Nickel". Years ago, artists, some of them "hobos", would re-engrave the buffalo nickel to look like all sorts of differnt characters. Some of these are very collectable, some of them are signed.
Even if it is not one of the valuable one, it is still a historical piece from the past. Maybe if you can do some research on Hobo Nickels, you can find out more about this item.
