Question
what is the difference in value between normal and business strike coins

Answer
Hello Russell,

Normal coins you handle are business strike.
The term BUSINESS STRIKE is a descriptive term used meaning the mass production of circulating coinage. The main reason coins are made is to circulate throughout commerce.

This is opposed to Coins Struck for coin collectors Such as Matte finish, Proof Versions, Brilliant Uncirculated versions or Commemorative coins Etc…

Now just a note that a business strike coin can be collectable. In fact the majority of coins in Numismatic Collections are (or were) made as business strikes.

Feel free to write me again for more information on this or ask me any question on US Coins.

Good Luck
