Question
Hi,
Did you ever find anything out about the 1944 Half Penny with the ship on the back, and the man's head on the fron?

Answer

1944 George 4thI Half
Hello Vic,

I do not remember being asked about this coin.  Sorry if the question was not forwarded to you by the all experts site thy do have problems with it. Or it was another so-called expert that did not answer you.

If on the front the words, "GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP."
This does describe the Large size British Half Penny. I am attaching a photo for you to confirm this is your coin. Feel free to write me again if yours is different.

Since all the coins of this era were demonetized and cannot be spent they sell for less than a U.S. dollar each in circulated grades.

The complete information can be found in the 1900 to 2000 volume of The STANDARD CATALOG of WORLD COINS, your library should have a copy.

I hope this information helped.

Thanks for following up on your question.
