Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Collectible Silver ingot?

Question
I recentley bought an old very toned silver bar.

"California Silver" is scripted in the middle of the mold (written cursive)
The following is stamped:
10.28 OZ.
999T
L1138
1859 with an 8 over-stamping the 9

Is this a collectible ingot or bar? The 1859 is upside down - not sure if it is a date.

Answer
Hello,

It is tough to say exactly what you have.  This could have been done by a private mint in the 1960's or back in the 1850's.

I sthere any other info on the bar such as who the refiner was?  The old bars always had some sort of identifying marks as to who made them.  This is a key issue in determining what you have.
