Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Found coin.......what is it?

Question
I was going through our laundry and pulled a coin out of my daughters pants.  It seems to be a gold colored coin that has an Eagle head on one side with the word Freedom above it and United We Stand below.  On the reverse side it is an american flag surrounded by 17 stars and the word America in a banner below it.  Below the word America is the date 1776 that has 5 stars under it.  I could not find on the internet what this coin is or what it is worth. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
Hi,

Well, it's not a coin. A coin would state 50 cents, 1 Dollars etc. or some other denomination.

It is some sort of a medal.  Many medals are made commemorating 1776, the birth of our nation.  I could not tell you when or where it was made, nor it's value if any.
