Question
hi i have a friend that got a dime from the bank and on one side it is a penny and the other side it is a dime is there any value to it

Answer
Hello,

Without seeing it, I can only make some guesses.

If the coin in question is "exactly" like a dime on one side and a penny on the other, where one side is copper and one side is nickel, it is most likely a magician's coin.  These are sold in novelty shops for about $7.

However, if it is a dime, or penny for that matter, that accidently went into the presses agaiin and was stamped with a second denomination, that is another story.  I have handled numerous pieces where a dime was overstamped with Lincoln, and vice-versa.

Please let me know which you have and what the coin is made of.
