Question
hello,i have found a coin from the U.S. treasury.it looks like a penny. on one side
hasthe logo of the us mint treasury and on the other side has uncirculated ontop
a big p in the middle andphiladelphia on the bottom. it has no date. is it worth
anything? thank you  james

Hello James,          

This is a Philadelphia Mint token.

They are made of the same metal as the One Cent coin.

They were issued by both the Philadelphia and Denver mints.
They were sealed in a flexible plastic with the other coins when you bought an Uncirculated Mint set from the mint gift shop or directly from the US Government. Along with all the circulating coins from the mint, for that year, they also contained a token from the mint that made them.

The design is the Seal of the United States Treasury Department. The P is for the Philadelphia Pennsylvania Mint facility.

These are common and sell for less than a dollar.
