Question
i have a coin with a "m" On the ribbon under the eagle does that mean any thing ?

Answer
Hello Jesse,

Did you see it on the front or the back? The letter M found on the coin is the artists initial.

These Liberty Head Dollars were designed and engraved by George T. Morgan and are referred to as Morgan dollars.  This initial is ion all the dollars of this design made from 1878 to 1921.

The initial appears at the truncation of the neck at the last hair tress on the obverse.   And on the reverse it is found on the left hand loop of the ribbon.

Feel free to ask me any question on USA Coins.
