QuestionQUESTION: 1923 silver dollar certificate 1 dollar bill i am trying to find out if this bill is worth
ANSWER: Hello Tim,
I really need the series date and letter if any and the denomination of the notes to get a range of value for you.
Does this note say Silver Certificate above the portrait? Is there a letter A or B with the series date? And does it have a star "*" in the serial number?
These Certificates are still available in Crisp-Uncirculated condition and can sell for $20 dollars as such. In circulated grade there is no set pricing since they are still so common they sell from 6 to $12 dollars each and in poor condition trade at face value.
I look forward to have you write back confirming the date.

QUESTION: It is a large 1923 One Dollar Silver Certicate that is larger than a regular bill. It has folds and is not crisp. It has no letter on the date. Can you possibly tell me the value of this bill.
AnswerHello again Tim,
I do not know if you received this answer previously?
I will re-send it to you.
Hello Tim,
The silver certificates printed before 1935 sell very well in most grades even if it has some folds.
The years after 1935 should be evaluated to be in top condition or Un-circulated for the highest price.
In general since 1923 silver certificates were made in rather large quantities. If yours is (CU) Crisp Un-circulated it will be more valuable.
If yours is very low grade it may sell for $8 to $10. Luckily these very low grades are still collectable but also common.
They sell for $24 in fine condition (your worn example), $32 for an Extra Fine (clean, no stains, etc.) note to about $60 or more for an un-circulated one.
Thank You and Good Luck
