the coin i found is from what i hear made in west germany. some one had found one with a 5 on it and mine has a 2 by the bird symbolthere are three dates on it. so im confused. there is 1982, 1969, and 1949... im just wondering if it is worth any thing. and any info you have on the coin. thank you.

Whitney, these were West German coins -- pfennig is the equivalent of our cent or penny, the mark is the equivalent of our dollar.  100 pfennig to the mark, which was worth less than a dollar so 2 pfennig has very little value.  West Germany is now on the euro, so the pfennig has been discontinued; I believe that the government and German banks still will redeem old marks and pfennig, but for the 2 or 5 pfennig, it wouldn't be worth submitting them.  Jim Lawniczak
