Question
I have a complete set of statehood quarters, 1999-2007. I have the P and D, and the proof and silver for all states. what would this collection be worth? I also have in very good condition a 1914D penny. It is original. Thanks. Lynn

Answer
Hello, Lynn, the various regular minted quarters (the Ps and Ds) have some value over face, but none is really worth all that much today.  Some of the proofs (the Ses) have decent value.  If you go to www.ebay.com and do searches for proof New York quarter, proof Connecticut quarter etc, you'll see lots for sale and can see the prices.  The 1914D cent if in strict very good condition (as described in the grading books) and without problems, is worth around a couple hundred dollars.  Again, go to www.ebay.com and do a search for 1914-D cent and you should see some for sale and can look at the pictures and compare them to yours.  Please do not do anything to try to improve the condition of your coin, you can't, whatever you do will be noticed and will reduce, perhaps substantially, the value of your coin.  Jim Lawniczak
