Coin and Paper Money Collecting/quarter

Question
I know someone that has a quarter that is stamped 1979 on one side and 1980 on the other.  What would the value be?

Answer
Cathy, I'm not 100% sure what you are describing, but it sounds like a 2 headed quarter, one with 1979 date and the other side with 1980.  In general, two headed coins were made as magician novelty pieces by hollowing out one side of a coin and putting another in.  When that happens, the two halves are joined by a seam on the edge.  Look on the edge of this piece and see what you see.  Also, try going to www.ebay.com and doing a search for two headed coin or two headed quarter or magician coin.  There should be some for sale there.  Jim Lawniczak
