Question

1989d mint error
Hi Dan, I think I'm doing something wrong but will try again. I have an 1989d penny that has its '"D" alot lower than the norm and was wondering if this is common and what it might be worth if it isn't? I am attaching an image. Thanks Bob

Answer
Hi Bob,

I guess you didn't recieve my previous response.

I'm not experienced with this variety, so I can't really tell you anything about it.

I suggest you contact a couple error coin dealers I know, and send them your picture, and see if they can offer any answers :

Ken Potter : KPotter256@aol.com

Mike Byers : mike@mikebyers.com

Good luck,

Dan

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.
