Question
I have recently found a 1936 indian head nickel with the date stamped on the left hand side is this rare?

Answer

Indian Head 5 cent
Hello Mary,

The date is supposed to be on the coins left bottom area below the neck on the bust of the Indian.
Where the date goes and which way the head faces is the artist’s choice on the coin. There is no rule.
I am attaching a photo for you to this question. If you mean something else by saying "date stamped on the left" feel free to write me again.

I hope this information Helps.

Good Luck
